Perspective is my main interest in the whole course as here I lack knowledge the most and i found it extremely hard to find sources that do not make it all look like black magic. Can't wait for upcoming lessons!
LESSON NOTES

What's in Premium?

Explore the essentials of perspective in art with a focus on simple yet effective depth cues. Learn about Linear Perspective's four techniques:

  • Overlap
  • Diminution
  • Convergence
  • Foreshortening

These techniques use lines to create depth. The video also touches on Tonal Perspective, which uses value and color for depth, preparing viewers for advanced perspective drawing in future lessons.

When we think of perspective, we tend to over complicate things. So, before we start drawing boxes in 1, 2, and 3 point perspectives, let's go over the 6 simple principles that create the illusion of depth in your drawings.

I teach Animation and work with my students to improve their drawing fundamentals. I find it really hard to explain perspective in a simple and fun way, but you guys are doing an excellent job at it.

i took a short break and now i'm ready to tackle the Rhythms lessons that scares the hell out of me. Then catch back up to do the depth lesson.

Very nice to show the perspective and overlap with the elephants.
Pedro Branco
Looking forward to the lesson though in the meantime can I ask for some homework?
Samantha Maggard
You can always do more gesture studies.

Practice those straight line warmups I showed you earlier in the course. You'll be drawing A LOT of lines in this perspective course, so it'll be helpful if you're comfortable with it. Also, you can watch these older free lessons: Structure Basics – Making Things Look 3D The Illusion of Depth – Perspective, Details and Overlapping Forms

Take an empty toilet role and draw it in all kinds of angles as warming up to perspective... Same with a box...
