I tried to design some simple characters for an afternoon. :)
That's it. The creature is based off of a Capybara, which is a really big type of rodent I've always had a soft spot for. The human character Is supposed to be a girl, because I seem to only ever draw guys, so I hope that she does appear as a lady to to others instead of Link from the Legend of Zelda, which I've heard already while drawing today, lol. :)

New Year's resolution for inking
Bydeleted user
As a sort of early New Year's resolution I played around with inking some scribbles yesterday. Very clumsy attempts. I've never done much professional inking and it's been years (and years, and years) since I've attempted anything. The inking I've done previously has been more in the thick-to-thin, brushy-cartoony style. The color cartoons attached are some examples of my work like that. I had never really put much effort into renderings that address shadow masses, figure planes, and what all. So, these first few scribbles are pretty awful in the technique department. Heck, in the drawing department too. I used a variety of cheap fine tip and brush markers. 'Just dipping my toes in :-) This coming year I will be doing some serious study of ink illustration technique. I'll probably start by doing close studies of artists whose inking I admire: Joe Kubert, Neal Adams, Jim Aparo. More as I discover them. And I'll be experimenting with different tools; possibly adding some dip pens. Anyway, these scribbles are posted for future comparison. And as always, much more study is needed :-) Blue prismacolor pencil, various fine tip and brush markers on white copy paper, 11 inches x 8.5 inches

Floss n’ roll
So I’m back to creating cartoons, and this is the most recent one I’ve done. 😁 Hopefully, there will be more of this kind coming soon. If you have any thoughts on it, I’d love to know about! Thanks!

Wasn't sure where to put this but this channel seemed the most fitting
I recently started an online store last month to try and sell my designs. This isn't an ad so don't click away yet, this is my latest design that I will be releasing on May 1st. Before the listing is live I would like to ask you to critique this work. I don't have a drawing screen and didn't want it to be overly detailed like a comic, but I would still like feedback with that in mind if you would be so kind.

Looking for General Feedback
I created this character of our dog, Marlow (RIP), who LOVED water. This is supposed to be a gouache painting for my wife but I'm not satisfied with the character design. I can't really pinpoint what is off so would appreciate any guidance. Thanks!

Animation - Practicing timing, spacing and process
Hi, I did this animation. Do you have any tips? https://youtu.be/W47jMm22Jhg I went through the Animator's Survival Kit last year and now I'm revisiting animation, to further develop my skills. I applied the disney flour sack exercise to a short story I have in mind. The location is a store and a girl comes to purchase an item. But as the owner of the store ascends the latter to get the item from the shelf, the latter breaks. The story revolves around him trying to get to the top of the shelf. The part I animated is when: he looks at the piece of paper, given to him by the girl, where the number of the item is written. He looks to the top of the shelf, climbs the latter, finds the item and reaches for it. After this the latter will break and he'll fall. My goal with the exercise was to practice the animation process suggested in the Animator's Survival Kit. The animation took roughly 10 hours, spread over two weeks, to make. Before this I practiced timing and spacing with bouncing balls. I started to feel more comfortable with it, so I moved on to focusing on process as well. I wrapped up my bouncing ball practice by doing this animation. https://youtu.be/miINF95TUAg Any feedback on it would be appreciated as well :) Thanks in advance!

Batman study
I did the color sketch with airbrush and then scanned the image for re-touch/experiment in PS. I think I do a larger painting in some point. What do you think about the background white or red? Red version is the original airbrushed and white is digital version.

Your favorite color comic!
I've read tons of comics in black and white... but I'm looking to expand my library and see what else is out there. Do you have a favorite comic with beautiful colors? Striking colors? Ominous colors? I'm especially interested in comics that are produced by a single-person or small team! Flat or partial colors also work; what I am especially trying to study is the marriage of linework and coloring :) As an example, I LOVE Calvin and Hobbes (I know, not exactly an obscure pick). Bill Watterson's vibrant watercolors plus juicy inkwork packed with character -- they're a perfect combination!

Couple of fanart, would love some critism
Hello it's been a while,I got tired of painting and took a short detour with inking. These are illustration for my fanfic of the famous manga berserk by Kentaro Miura.I try to emulate his style as best as I could so it feels like reading the original comic.I hope to get critism if some part of the drawing feel boring or if it's not clear. Also would like to know if the composition or line quality isn't working. Thanks again for replying :D (Also I know this is a little bit different but @squeen @Christopher Beaven any thought?)

WIP - perspective scene exercise, working on characters addition
I'm having A LOT of trouble drawing lately, not even able to go for a simple sketch session. I'm sorry I share this piece of half baked work. I started this February from last year as an excuse to try perspective. It is probably going to be finished by 2023 by the rate I'm at. Character design is from Lineage 2, not mine ! I'm not looking for particular advises, it's open for critics. Side note : if the people that helped me about the building perspective see this update, many thanks again for your past comments and tips !
