It really helps to pull from your experiences when you're drawing from imagination. I worked out some shapes first using reference from the kiki pictures on the left. Then I started to think about some cats that I know in real life. I thought about how upset my roommate's cat gets when you don't play with him and that gave this little guy a lot of attitude.

The end result is fantastic

Decided to another study using comic artist Dan Mora! Since we were supposed to focus on line weight I decided to only focus on the major aspects and forgo the details. Any critiques would be great!

Decided to one last one before moving to the next thing. This is a Pocahontas sketch done by Glen Keane!

The left is Kim Jung Gi’s work and the right is from Alfonse Mucha. I was pleasantly surprised by the final results of my master study. If anyone has any critiques I’d really appreciate it!

          Study after Alfonse Mucha. I approach this exercise wondering how to analyze a style 😅. I began this study trying not to just do a copy, but i ended it up thinking that i just did that in worse.   But stepping back, I now realize several elements I missed. There's much more diversity in the lines than I imagined.   Firstly, construction lines can be seen in Mucha's sketch. For example, the right arm was drawn entirely and then the part hidden by clothes was partially erased. I completely missed this because I was too focused by the contours The contour of the left hand, for example, is less pronounced than the rest of the contours. The lines used for the hand and the features of the face are sharper than those of the clothing. The lines that indicate the folds are thicker and not necessarily softened at the extremities and contrast with the loose lines of the clothing frills.   I think I made too many strokes in order to do exactly the same as Mucha, but in the end, I'm rather satisfied with my drawing.   Every comment is welcome 😊 Have a nice day

This is stupid good. Like my jaw dropped, this came out fantastic
@toph
The parrot is by Charles Le Brun the Arm by Stan Prokopenko. I think they both came out pretty good! I’d really appreciate any critiques though
@toph
I’m actually so happy with the way the way this came out! I really proud that I didn’t trace for this one. The past couple of practice line weight pieces I did I just traced the image to focus on just line weight
@toph
after watching the video and practiced a littler, I found some appreciation for line weight. Any critiques are welcomed!

I’ve learned something from this. I HATE line art, the drawing itself I think came out fine. I took the creative liberty and didn’t draw the laces

Wow you can really see improvement!! They are both good but the 2nd one is just so eye catching
@toph
I decided to redo this assignment after watching the demo because I felt like I saw a lot of room for improvement. I think I was a little too timid the first time so I made sure to add more variety in my line value and thickness. If anyone has any critiques I’d really appreciate!
