I’m pretty happy with this. Idk that I’m better at one method vs the other but I did notice I had a lot more fun when I wasn’t constantly measuring. Also the eye makeup sooo threw me off, I had to shade in the one eye because my brain couldn’t make sense of what I was looking at

This looks really good! The tapered marks and variable lineweights are lovely.
The way you handled the makeup is cool. You could adjust the construction on this eye a little bit. Maybe it’s because you redrew it already. I think its lost some of its structure. Flattened out.
Great stuff. Keep it up 👍

Does it look good? Sure. It is accurate, nope. But I’ve been at this for 3 days and can’t figure out why I’m struggling so much🤷♀️

2 attempts at designing value groups. This exercise was an opportunity for me to put @Michael Hampton 's Head Drawing and Construction course into practice 😉. So I started by studying the structure of the head, then I related that to the light direction and the shading. And I tried to design all of this with today's lesson in mind. I first separated the shadows from the light, then I went into the details and nuances. I didn't have the courage to work on a whole page (for fear that it would take too long), but it is true that it bothered me a little in the details

This came out pretty good, however the face I think came out a lot more accurate than upper torso. And I think that’s because I got really tripped up with the fabric and started getting lost in the detail. That’s a skill I’d really like to work on however don’t know how to approach so if anyone has any tips that would be amazing

You’re very close. This looks awesome.
It just looks like some of the diagonals are a touch off. The only one that stands out to me would be his shoulder. It’s too horizontal, so it makes it look a bit too wide.
Narrow that should a little bit and this drawing is golden.
Thanks for sharing. Nice stuff 👍

I’m Starting to realize that I’m really quick to be harsh with myself if I don’t understand how to draw something on the 1st try. With this assignment I needed a second to just explore the shapes and how I wanted them to interact with one another. If anyone has critiques that would amazing!

It really helps to pull from your experiences when you're drawing from imagination. I worked out some shapes first using reference from the kiki pictures on the left. Then I started to think about some cats that I know in real life. I thought about how upset my roommate's cat gets when you don't play with him and that gave this little guy a lot of attitude.

Decided to another study using comic artist Dan Mora! Since we were supposed to focus on line weight I decided to only focus on the major aspects and forgo the details. Any critiques would be great!
Decided to one last one before moving to the next thing. This is a Pocahontas sketch done by Glen Keane!

The left is Kim Jung Gi’s work and the right is from Alfonse Mucha. I was pleasantly surprised by the final results of my master study. If anyone has any critiques I’d really appreciate it!
