Here's my attempts at three of the images, feel good about the result. However I do feel like I might have overworked them for what the assignment was, especially the boots.
Here are my two attempts of the Skull and the Camel. The Camel was harder for me than the skull, but at the second try (the second image, which has a 10 Rd.1 in it) I was able to catch well the movement and proportions (especially). If anyone is interested, I would appreciate feedback :)

I can definitely see what you mean with your second camel drawing, and the skull drawing. You have a good eye! You made great CSI choices in your camel drawings; I think that your lines in the skull drawing could be simplified just a bit more. There's a lot of little details in there that you observed well, but for the point of this assignment, could be translated into a C or S curve, or a straight line.
My attempt: the camel. Trying to focus on keeping my lines confident
Before watching the demo, did the camel first then the skull. I'm honestly quite happy. With the camel I still cheated a bit by changing proportions digitally after the fact, with the skull I tried to keep myself honest (though undoing is still a bad habit, maybe? is it a bad habit if it allows me to redo a line I mess up? hmm).
Surprised myself with the ability to communicate such a complex subject matter if I actually not rush things, which I think I usually really do. Happy with the results.
The skull was harder than expected mostly because some of the large sweeping lines in the hat, some parts were easier to do in one swooping motion than to break it up. Definitely worth more practice also.
I am impressed. very clean and readable. Proportions are good!
Tried the challenge being a level 1 it was so fun!
What do you guys think of it?
Hi all,
The most challenging part for me is placing the drawing on the paper at the correct scale. Every time, either the camel's head or its feet are outside the paper. It seems easy, but I've had to repeat it many times. Because of this, I can't concentrate on the drawing, even if I simplify it. So, for now, I'm just sharing this image. But I need to work on the scale more thoroughly. I'm curious to know if anyone else has faced the same challenge and how they overcame it!
Yes! I've had similar troubles, and still do it all the time. I have 3 recommendations, you can see which or which combination suits you:
1) try drawing a rectangular box within which you must confine your drawing. Don't go outside the box, no matter what. Very hard mentally, but the challenge will help you reframe your mind. Beforehand, observe roughly the space in which you want the drawing to be and make sure the proportions of the rectangle fit (the "aspect ratio" of your drawing, in other words). I don't personally prefer drawing this way, but it is very good practice because it makes you acknowledge some of the major proportions before you even lay down a stroke.
2) Be very patient with preliminary observation, try to really take mental note of where you want to start before jumping into the drawing. You might look at the photo for 5-10 minutes before you even draw, and that's totally okay. The best way to learn in my experience is to cognitively acknowledge what you're trying to do, and patiently do your best to apply it - even if you fail, this will net you way more progress than jumping in again and again, attempt after attempt, without that breathing space inbetween.
3) Try a rough layin of the figure before going in and adding more structure. For the skull, that could just be the main outlines (long straight on the left, diagonal on the jaw, etc) forming a basic shape. If you still can't do that, that's the area you need to improve on first. Try redoing the layin until you can get it within the bounds of the paper like you want.
This is a very frustrating problem, and I still struggle with it. If you have also found ways to deal with it, I would love to hear your perspective. I hope what I said helps at least a bit!
I think that i find man made objects (including skellies) easier than nature. With nature, trying to identify the shape beneath the surface is hard.
I found it easier to follow the guidance with the skellie. With the camel, i kept putting in rough positions, then changing my mind. 🫣🙄🫣
I definitely need some more practice with C and S lines, I think I am liking straight lines too much currently. I feel the snail could be a lot more gestural ^^ (also- My poor camel is about to tip over lol!)
Another practice I did, Need to focus on the proportions more eventually! Its a bit of a struggle.
Hi. There. I can already see not-so-confident lines, but it's a good practice. Will continue to try to simplify my likes, shapes etc.
I am still struggling getting the projects in a sketch format, my lines are not as loose as I want them to be.
Hi everyone, I’m a learner from China. For the past four years, I have been self-studying art, dedicating over 6 hours every day to fundamental drills. I’ve also consumed a vast amount of art theory.
Despite this, I’ve struggled to produce high-quality original work. I realized there’s a "mental block" between my practice and my creative process—I’ve been so focused on grinding the fundamentals that I neglected learning how to actually apply them to real creation.
I’ve known about Proko since the beginning, but the course fees were a bit beyond my budget, so I only visited the site occasionally. However, I just discovered that while the premium content is paid, the assignments are open to everyone! After trying some of the exercises, I felt a genuine sense of joy. I feel like I'm finally starting to understand how to bridge the gap between practice and creation.
What’s even better is the community here—being able to post work and discuss it with others is amazing. I love this atmosphere! Moving forward, I plan to combine the theory I’ve learned with these assignments and engage with all of you.
A huge thank you to Proko. I believe this community is just as valuable and important as the lessons themselves!
Hi! Do you post your art anywhere? I think we are in similar situations. I try to do my solo self-found art education while juggling full-time jobs as a doctor. I'm always looking for people to talk about art with!
Anyways - nice job. I can see every type of curve in our images clearly and the images read well.
The camel sketch was done watching reference photo..stuggled while drawing those legs. While drawing skully faced problem doing the hat so i had to watch demo video to complete the drawing.
I misunderstood the exercise before and had another go at the skull just using CSI lines. I feel like my lines are just off though, they don't seem to be as fluid.
My level 2 line drawing. Definitely very messy on that camel. those legs were killing me.
@Rachel Dawn Owens
I feel like my brain keeps tricking me into seeing something in the wrong way especially when it's on an angle and i end up making it flat. Is there anything you recommend to fix it? also did I do my assignment correctly ? And thank you in advance. 🙇

From what I can see here, you’ve done a great job!
It seems like the second attempts were simplified further than the first. You’re on the right path.
The best thing I can offer to help with the eye measuring might just be to keep the reference really close to your drawing. If you can print it at the same size as your drawing paper, even better!
I made this demo to help explain it further:
It looks like you did the assignment just as you should. I hope this helps to clarify it further for you-
