Drawing from imagination after watching demo. Evil pigeon.

This dude is awesome! I love his crazy proportions. To make the pose feel more balanced, notice to placement of the head to the feet. If the character is standing still, the head is usually balanced somewhere between the feet. I might push the head back in this drawing. That’s all. I hope this makes sense. Your drawings are so good!

Should have picked an animal
 I give up.

Doesn't look like you gave up. Looks more like you did the exercise. Good job !

2025/6/14. Good evening everybody. Here's my original character (sketch + refined digital version). During the final digital drawing I changed a lot. The sketch was just to put down on the paper some general ideas. Thanks for any comment or critique. Good night.

The chameleon in the lower left corner is my own drawing... I think the tail is curled in the wrong direction, hahahaha.

So my choice for the animal was penguin. I drew some detailed drawing at first to get main understanding of which shapes are important and which are not. Then i simplified until i got used to the main shapes, and drew some sketches from imagination (the last 2 photos). looking forward to hear what I did wrong, right, and how I can improve

i picked a bat too

This guy is fun. I love his little wings and big ears. If you wanted to take this to the next level. Try playing with dynamic shapes. Kill the symmetry and find the flow through the pose. This will give him more personality and energy.

I started by drawing one sketch from observation then visualizing it from another perspective or in a different dynamic pose. Realized while watched Stan's observation critiques that these lines are not loose enough, but still enjoyed the process and think it turned out ok.

Sketch from imagination. Boy, this has always been very difficult for me. In fact, learning to draw from imagination was why I decided to take this course. I did better than I thought, but it still looks like a third grader did it. đŸ€Šâ€â™‚ïž I chose a sloth for my animal for the simplicity; didn’t want to get discouraged by doing something too beyond my range. I think I could have spent more time on the study sketches. First two are the studies and the third is the imagine sketch. Really tried to push it with the reclining pose. Don’t know if it quite worked though. Overall, decently happy with it. But more work is needed.

After watching the demo, I see that I could've spent more time sketching and thinking of more ideas, so I'm going to try a few more times!

I tried again.

Hi ! This is my second attempt at this after the demo. It's also day 11 of the two-week challenge. I chose the bighorn sheep. I did over the course of the whole day. It started very stiff, very close to the reference. I couldn't get loose and relaxed enough to go to imagination at first, but after a while I managed to get the "flow" state of mind, and things got way more fun (drawings on the lower part of the second page). On the third page of drawings I tried some cartoonish / younger versions of it, but I'm not as satisfied with them than with the ones in the second page. I realize once again that darker pencils (2B) are easier for me to get tapered and searching lines flowing, compared to my more traditional 2H sketching pencil. As always, all feedbacks are welcome !

I chose the red fox. The drawing showing details in the neck and the tail is my final attempt. This is the last image.
