Your drawings feel more like a poofy cloud than a solid sculpture. This often happens from leaning too heavily on soft edges. Solid mass is described by a variety of edges, not just one. Learning to control the transition from sharp cast shadows to soft, rounded forms will make your work feel more three-dimensional.

Another attempt. I'm seeing edges everywhere I look now. So that's good. This one is using acrylic paint (black and white) on canvas paper with a scumble technique. I am happy with this one. I wanted to have multiple edge types (check) and show the form with the edges (check).

Hi everybody, Watching this critique, I am wondering how you manage to show the different types of edges when using hatching for the values... Any input is welcome

"You're not fiding firm edges and you're not fiding enough sharp edges" Ah, in Digital Painting Fundamentals course one of instructors pointed out it but I completely forgot until I watched this video. Checking your old notes regularly is crucial...

Thank you for the critique Stan! And for tumbnail😊 Yeah after seeing level 1 crituiqe i felt I missed Sharp edges in cast shadows on my assignments. I will improve on that. I notised after i sent in my assignment that cast shadow from nose on the first one was way to short. And i guess i made it shorter from the hat because of the eyes to make them look better. But to be more true to the light reference i should have made it longer. Thank you this was very helpfull!
