Did the gestures after watching this video and the rhythms one from the drawing basics course. I did notice a slight improvement but I still gotta work more on incorporating everything covered in both videos I watched which was quite a bit of info.

Definitely gotta practice this more, specially getting proportions right quickly.
Wasn't getting good taper so I tried using another brush in order to get better lines like Proko said in the feedback he gave me in the seal gestures. Gotta work a bit more on handling pen pressure quicker to also get more varied line weight in thickness and value.

Experimented with different ways on handling the texture and highlights on different lips.

Struggled a bit with the darker skin tones but getting better at painting them.

Level 2 imagination gesture drawings, had a lot of fun with #3 and #6.

Level 1 part of the assignment, I struggled to keep confidence at first but got better as I kept going and felt less pressure over how to come up with good shape design. Overall, I'm happy with #6 and #9, really liked the flow of #9 and the enveloping shape of #6.

I wanted to focus on practicing angles given that it is the hardest method so I used that technique and 2 big plumb lines.

Got them done, became more accurate over time.

FInally finished another 10 of them. The alpaca, tiger, hyena and african wild dog were the ones that ended up looking the best out of all my attempts in my opinion.
In order:
1. Cat
2. Alpaca
3. Raccoon
4. Fox
5. Wolf
6. Tiger
7. Hyena
8. Pomeranian
9. African Wild Dog
10. Lion

The kind alpaca and a less kind, spitting one, experimenting with lines.
Later today searching for different kind of roosters with pen and ink, mainly focusing on character, so maybe the lines are a bit messy.

Saw the alpaca and inspired me to do my own so might as well give feedback in exchange for the inspiration.
I feel that you're sticking to much to the IRL proportions in the alpaca ones instead of experimenting with them.
Some shapes are a bit overly complicated, you can go for a single simple shape for the woolly parts instead of doing several curves, like in the example I'm posting.

Used the same image twice (the cliff wall to the viewer's left of the river as the base and the foliage on the viewer's right for modifications) to make the 2nd stamp.

Hard to bring it down to 10. Maybe the solution for the eyes is not legal, but I liked the image.

I didn't really know how to approach this exercise at first. I always find it difficult to simplify and deviate from the model. But I was very inspired by all your drawings and I gradually found my way. Finally I had fun and I really want to do a lot more!

I think you're repeating feature shapes a bit. So for example, 3 out 4 of your buffaloes have the exact same eyes. Something that helped me avoid that were the sushi chefs that Stan showed. You can look for examples at Dragon Ball, Goku tends to have rounder eyes (when he's not serious) which make him look friendlier while Vegeta has more triangle like eyes that accentuate his seriousness and aggressiveness
Another thing I notice is the lack of proportional changes (I'm also guilty of this). The relationship of size between the heads, eyes and horns feels the same. This relationship tends to have an impact on the character for example bigger eyes in comparison to the head accentuates cuteness and frendliness while smaller ones accentuates seriousness. For example, you can do big horns, medium head, small eyes or big eyes, medium head, small horns.

I left the sketch under the inking to help delineate the shapes.
Gonna wait for more videos on shape design before doing more, I just have pretty basic knowledge on shape design and struggled a lot.
It took me an entire day to finish the hippo one but overall the circular one looks good, same for the other animals, I seem to do well with circular designs while struggling a lot more with triangular ones.
I struggled a lot in designing the horns of the buffalo until I got the idea of using negative space inside it to incorporate the circle/square/triangle design.
The rooster one did came out good overall, using the Big-Medium-Small rule helped create interesting crests.

Chose Kim Jung Gi and Sorie Kim. Struggled a lot to find an artwork from Gi that wasn't overwhelming but managed to decide on one. I always have a tendency attempt to go for perfect lines but it was quite relaxing to actively allow a bit of wobble and a lot of line weight variation in the same stroke.

Took me quite a while to do all these linearts but finally done. Had a lof of fun looking for Terminator scenes. I'm happy with all the results except for the level 2 Light and Shadow one. Depth and From definitely feels easier than Light and Shadow to me.

Hello, this is my first pass before I watch the demos. Any critiques would be appreciated!

You need to think about the bigger picture, you went in for the smaller details. For example if you trace a straight a line from the the (your) left side of the skull's jaw to the brow ridge, you can see that it is more tilted than the actual photo. If you get those big measurements first then you can move to placing down the most relevant lines. The nasal cavity could've been simplified, you have a wobbly line on the inner side that could've a simple straight or S curve.

Was trying to merge the wolf paws and komodo dragon feet first but they aren't things I understand well how to draw so just tried to simplify the wolf paws instead. Got a bit overly greedy with some angles but wasn't that bad given that I made them with my limited amount of references. Definitely not used at drawing animals from imagination the same way I can do people. Overall, the top left sketch in the 2nd image did end up better than the final sketch. Definitely a challenging project that got me out of my comfort zone!
