@Marshall Vandruff, Amazing! I was waiting for this one, I've been staring uncomprehendingly at the diagram in my Loomis' book for weeks. I had a real problem figuring out how he placed the measuring point, you cleared this up for me in seconds! Thank you.
One question, can this be used in the other direction? if you knew how big your first division was on a plane could you then project that out on to the measuring line and find how big the equal spaces should be on the measuring line? Or is this impossible without knowing the angle of the connecting parallel? I know that diagonal vanishing points suits this problem way better, but I'm just curious.

Wow I just finished the exercises on this vid. I'm surprised how simple and yet complicated it is. though I do wish I could get rid of the extra lines when I am done with them.
