There's something confounding me around the model's distance between her eyes and the hair. The eyes look far too close or small to me and the hair looks like a swimmer's cap. I plan on wrapping this one with the next lesson and then picking up another reference image to practice.

For future/current students, the image doesn't appear to be in the download pack so I have screen capped it here if you need it.

Alright went back and did a study after following the live stream earlier today to see what I absorbed. My main takeaways are: 1. the cylinder gesture used to communicate the direction of the body in key parts is actually pretty intuitive and I kind of like using it just to help with initial layin. 2. I'm feeling a lot more confident with how to start with the line of action, which for me is big because it was such a hard concept for me to grasp a year ago. 3. I got to learn more about anatomy, some parts are a real mystery to me.

A really challenging day. These were all 10 mins that I took further to 20, 30 and 60 mins prospectively after I struggled so much with the back pose. Interior details need remeasured and values need some better organization. I took some notes for later. I enjoyed today none-the-less. Hope everyone else is doin' good.

Fully admit these are me following Josh Black, but you know what I feel like I learned a ton so I don't feel guilty about it...well not that guilty. A part of me is saying I should put it another hour and do studies in the same approach and see where I'm at. I think if I have the time/energy after I put the baby down than ya I'll give it a go.

Was aiming for two 25 minute studies, though admittedly I probably went 35 min on the second one. I know its a different approach to layins that Stan teaches, but I do find Stephan Bauman's and Lane Brown's lighter structure into shadow shapes more intuitive. That being said the second one's proportions are more noticeably off, which probably could have been offset had I came at it from a more structural point of view at the start.
