LESSON NOTES
What's in Premium?
In this lesson, I focus on refining the character's head and face. You'll see my process for modifying features like the eyes, nose, and hair to find the right personality. I'll also show you what to do when a painting isn't working. Watch me scrap a direction I'm not happy with and start over, because sometimes applying "band-aids" isn't enough to fix a broken structure. This is about learning when to push through and when to make a big change to get the character right.

Applying endless band-aids to a design won't save it if the idea is structurally broken.
If a piece feels like it's not working, no amount of small fixes will help. Don't be afraid to start over. It is not a failure. It is about having the discipline to spend the time to fix it, which is a huge part of being a concept artist.
