LESSON NOTES
What's in Premium?
We have the design, but now we need to really sell the idea. In the full lesson, I walk you through the final polish steps to take your piece over the top. We start by adjusting curves to push the values and contrast without losing detail. I’ll show you how to swap the background to make the character pop and introduce rim lighting to enhance the form. You’ll learn to add specific details like hair sheen, eye color, and cast shadows to ground the figure. This stage is about presentation, making sure your work stands out in a portfolio or to an art director. It’s time to give your character that extra zip and finish the piece strong.

There is a difference between a finished drawing and a professional presentation.
You can make your character pop by taking the time to adjust the curves and add specific lighting effects. A subtle rim light against a darker background separates the form to help you sell the final vision to your art director.
