LESSON NOTES
In my previous lessons I taught you about the bones and muscles of the hand and how to draw them. We covered the 3 muscle groups: thenar eminence, hypothenar eminence and the first dorsal interosseous. In this demo I’ll show you how to use those lessons to draw a closed fist.

Wow! This look awesome!
The clear shapes of value folding around the forms gives this hand a lot of 3d form.
I think you could make it even bolder with some carefully placed heavier lines. Consider what is overlapping what. If you bolden some of the marks to exaggerate the depth you can give it even more 3d form.
Its a subtle thing but something I like to add. I may have over exaggerated it here to prove a point.
Hope this is helpful. This hand study rocks!
Keep it up!
Hand study part 3, which is Conte on newsprint, and a page of the studies so far.
I like the way Stan simplified the shadows and tried to copy that in my drawing. I think I could add a little more variety to the shapes of the shadows and wrinkles.
I don't really like this drawing but i'm not sure why also the thumb feels like plastic and i'm also not sure why. If anyone knows why please tell me.
Assignment 3 without having watched the video. The shading… still don’t know how.
2021/11/10. Good afternoon everyone. Here's my second attempt for this assignment. The area around the first phalange of the pinky (between the metacarpal and the first phalange) looks empty... I should defined it better. Thanks.
2021/10/31. Good morning everyone. Here’s my first attempt for this section. Thanks a lot.
I think the core shadow along the right side of the hand looks too sharp, I would soften the edge.On the belly of the muscles edges tend to be softer and harder along more tendenes and bony areas
