LESSON NOTES

In my previous lessons I taught you about the bones and muscles of the hand and how to draw them. We covered the 3 muscle groups: thenar eminence, hypothenar eminence and the first dorsal interosseous. In this demo I’ll show you how to use those lessons to draw a closed fist.

Wow! This look awesome! The clear shapes of value folding around the forms gives this hand a lot of 3d form. I think you could make it even bolder with some carefully placed heavier lines. Consider what is overlapping what. If you bolden some of the marks to exaggerate the depth you can give it even more 3d form. Its a subtle thing but something I like to add. I may have over exaggerated it here to prove a point. Hope this is helpful. This hand study rocks! Keep it up!
