Ear placement was harder than I expected, especially when the head tilts up or down. On some angles I also wasn't sure where to cut the side plane circle. Facely3D helped a lot — rotating the head with lighting on made these much easier to understand.
Will keep these as my daily warm-up.

I also included some from my sketchbook that i did over my lunch break today. I'd like to make it a habit to use my lunch time to practice heads like this. I know they aren't great but that's why im here lol
I spent wayyyy too long in these - definitely more than 10 mins a head, but as I get more familiar with identifying the planes, I’ll try and be more brutal with sticking to the time limits :)
My 5 heads. I numbered them in the order i drew them. I think I figured out a good brush setting I am satisfied with. It was difficult to do looking at the model and easier to follow with the sketches.
I noticed that turning the smoothing on helped with my lines.
I still struggle with the perspective, so if there are any points, particularly which direction the brow curve should go when you lay the first drawing guidelines. For example, in sketch 5, I first curved the line the opposite of what it is now. For the side plane, I couldn't decide if the line should be curve, or straight. I also could not decide intuitively on its angle.
Cool first module!
Some male heads here. I feel like, still I get the neck too long sometimes (#1), like in the female attend before on (#4 and 5).
Back to this one: Lines could be cleaner / more confident and less scribbly, I guess.
#5 I first time changed the mimic. Angry 😄
I also think, that I go to fast into many details, at a point, where I rather should lay in basics shapes. Many times, I also feel not sure, where is the border between basics shapes and too much detail.
Anyway, I practice daily, mostly in sketchbook, what I usually don't upload here.
Have fun practicing and a nice weekend to all of you 😊
Hi, I still struggle alot with the view from downside up. My exact struggle here is the chin to neck part (#6). Trying more extreme views from downside looking up, I struggle more.
You might think this is not that bad, but I tried with the loomis method and couldn't get it right. Then I just drew from eye sight.
In complete I feel satisfied with my attempt today 😊 just gotta do more.
I will add more head lay-ins from the male head. These were only female.
I did the assignment both in a traditional and digital format. While I feel like I understand the general shape of the head, I struggle with the placement of the features and the proportions. I would really appreciate some feedback. Overall, I enjoyed the assignment.

Getting back into this with some traditional lay-ins at the Cafe this morning. Started with with Loomis (just to try) but went back to ol' faithful Hampton! Loving the Facely 3D app! (Excuse the little notes to myself)

Hey there, Marvin, thank you very much for posting these. A couple of notes for you. One is to be careful with the sign in this general proportion of the sphere that you use to start at the head. Remember that the skull shape is actually deeper than it is wider or taller so when you're looking at the face or the head from the side You need to have a little bit elongated looking back Another one is to pay attention to the module about facial features once you get to it so you can see how each of the facial features combines with the shape of a skull to make everything look and feel three-dimensional

Great stuff Lucy, fantastic proportion control, and love what you are doing also with the line quality. Nice and sketchy without feeling messy. I do see that the ear seems to move around a bit, but I don't think is anything to worry about, as you go through the course these features will fall into place. For now I'd say looks great!
Did this yesterday and today right before bed. I definitely struggle with keeping proportions in line and also keeping these quick. Going to get started on the skull tomorrow to hopefully improve my accuracy and speed on drawing the head. I welcome any critique, thank you!

You have lots of really good different angles in here Darian, I think worrying too much about speed might be counterproductive, instead, I'd try to focus on the accuracy, and the line quality, and the speed will come by itself. Most of the speed comes not from drawing faster, but making fewer mistakes
Tried to keep these quick. I definitely struggle with placing the side plane of the head (size and location) as well as the ears. Will definitely use this as a consistent warm up!

Hello!
Would appreciate the feedback for my 1st assignment, I really struggled with proportions and top/bottom angles.
Thank you!

Honored that your first submission in Proko is here inmy course :) Here is a quick rant video for you https://www.loom.com/share/21d65dffff484769ad489c29c2ec2c97
First assignment here. Feels good to get into drawing some heads! I'm not always confident if/how to place the vertical midline. How do you decide which are the most critical strokes to put down? And which to leave out?
First day giving this a go. I think I have a hard time wrapping my head around the volume of the back and when the face tilts down away from the viewer.
Adding this to my daily warmup routine. Are they too rough? I kept everything in it no erasing just a few undo. This is how I sketch, search and think due a warmup session.

Good stuff Alex! Here is a quick video for you about line quality https://www.loom.com/share/810063f136434d819b1375f6c64165a6
Mis primeras cinco imagenes. Prometo hacer este ejercicio diariamente hasta que complete todo el curso.
Me ha encantado.
