Thank you Marshall, you're wise.

Hello everybody! I'm an illustrator from Austria, working for years without profound anatomy-skills. I did a lot of life drawing years back during my studies, but never really learned the theory. So I thought it's about time to change this, and I'm happy the course started today.
I liked the first lesson and wanted to share my first results with you. Usually, I draw on paper, but decided to do this in Photoshop to improve my digital skills, too. Lots of other things to improve - feedback is very welcome :-)

My internet is really bad, is there a chance this lesson also gets lower quality settings then 1080p, like the others? This lesson won't even start, the others work fine with lower resolution.

How about if you download the video file. Its 272 MB, that's not so much. May take time with your connection but then you can watch it on vlc player without internet.

I wasn’t sure how detailed to make it so left it pretty bare. Not sure if it was the caffeine I had right before or not but I was finding I struggled to put light pressure and keep the lines fluid. Maybe it’s just not being confident but that’s what I found to be most difficult about this exercise. Any feedback is appreciated!

After the snail and the boots I’ve tried my hand on the camel and skull as well. Watching the critique first helped to refocus what the exercise is about. This time I’ve spent more time on some pre-sketching to get a feel for the proportions - the perspective of the camel took me a good while to wrap my head around - and then go in with more confident lines to the curves.

it's just AMAZING. I love how you made the pumpkin look 3D. Also, how you drew the dogs face hair with just a few lines. very beautiful.

Here's my first Proko course drawing! Woo!
Drew the apple first from a piece of fruit I had in front of me. Then the pear on top while looking at the picture. The two pear drawings below were done while/after watching Stan's demo. I'm already enjoying this so much. (10/27/23)
here is my exercise. Glad to hear your thoughts! Is it enough simplified?

Hey, drawing-geeks :) Drawing the first one, I didnt realize that Stan obligated sharp edges to the shading. In the second I focused more on this. Is it a bad thing, that I only integrated 4 (instead of 5) different values? Anyway, it was fun to draw.

Ok, I'm very excited that I found this resource. Feeling ready to get back into making art after years of not drawing and saying "I should draw" but not really knowing how to go about it anymore.
