I never thought to start out with neutrals like this, so this has been an eye opener for me!

So question, would you recommend always starting a painting with neutral grays?

I tried my best on applying the content to another scene! I'm not sure it looks completely right, tho ^^

Here's another practice applying the lesson. I might need to push some areas with more saturated colors I think. Any suggestion will be very much appreciated.

This course really taught me a lot for the first time I actually understand how to begin to properly think about colour. Love this course

Here's my first go at the complementary color practice. Not sure I'm happy with it yet and input definitely welcomed.

It’s nicely rendered, though not sure that was the point in the excersize ;) Perhaps you could delve more into the purple’s too. A tiny bit more saturated purple’s to prove the point of complementary colors.

I’m very new to painting and never heard of color hormone. It feels like a mystery is solved in front of me. Thank you for this class and I’m looking forward for the next sessions. I would also appreciate any feedback or comments.

Dear Marco, thanks for this enlightening lesson. The principals are crystal clear and fully make sense to bring harmony. Any hints you can share on how to port those principles on a media like watercolor? I have not yet tested but feel that if I start with neutrals with watercolor, I may struggle adding the more saturated tones. Am I missing something?

Great question! I'm trying to use the principles in oil paint but they are not working as well as shown in Photoshop. I've had real success with starting in neutrals so that saturated colors stand out but I'm not sure how to take it further. I hope Marco will have some time to comment.
