Daily Sketching From Life Challenge12m
I want to draw from life more than I have been. This thread is my attempt to jump-start the habit of daily life sketching.
If anyone wants to join in, feel free. The only rule is that you have to draw (or paint) the world around you without using photo reference.

Played a bit with the location of the horizon line.

Very nice,, however, be carful to keep your facing lines parallel and perpendicular to your horizon line when tilting the horizon line.

Super busy tonight, but I managed to throw down a few 30 second sketches.
Another quick session with youtube NMA figure drawing. Tried using a ballpoint pen this time and I'm not sure about the result. I like how loose it feels to draw with it, similarly to charcoal, but on the other hand I end up with a hundred of lines instead of one or two. Also, this time I was drawing flat on the table and I think this didn't help with my judgement of proportions - all of these figures seem to have very short legs ;)

Nice! I like mixing it up with different tools as well. It's always clunky in the beginning, so it takes a while to find out any give tool is for you or not.

Hey! 1-3 is from reference and 4-6 are from imagination, would appreciate any critique :)

After weeks of struggling I think I'm finally getting it, although it still takes me 4-5 minutes for each pose. Bridgman and Michael Hampton's books were a big help!
Also, finally understood the overhand grip and how much of a difference it can make!
Thanks a lot Stan! Your courses are amazing!

Very nice, Huy!
A few of us in this class and other classes are posting in a daily thread if you want some company in making this a habit.

Going back through this section of the course. I shall not fear perspective!

Nothing to fear. As I've heard C.F. Payne say, "The only thing taking a risk is the paper."

I don't know how many times now I had posted about this subject. Do you think my structure is good enough to move on to features or should I practice keep practicing the loomis method?
8d
Not that any of us are ever DONE studying structure, but these look really good. I don't see any reason not to tackle the features.
