LESSON NOTES
This is the 2nd demo where I take you through the entire process of drawing an anatomically correct foot. I start with a study of the simple forms which help me gauge the perspective of the foot. Then I establish the gesture, find the anatomical forms, refine and shade the drawing.

ASSIGNMENTS
my attempt at feet, I think a deep down anatomy studies like this is still too early for me, need to do something simpler first
You’ve got a beautiful hand! I haven’t taken this course yet, but if I am understanding it right, I found the adjustments made between the bottom blocking drawing and the final foot rather impressive.
Do you find the blocking method helpful to understand what you are drawing?
I’ve always had trouble translating what I see into blocks since my drawings often end up stiff and rigid. But I see how dynamic your feet ended up… very inspiring!
Here's my foot assignment. I threw in some studies I did with the robo foot, I just thought they were neat.
For this assignment I needed some help, so I watched the video. I tried to use the darks a bit better… but maybe the paper wasn’t the best choice. Am not content, but I loved working on this drawing.

Hi @Sita Rabeling, I think it's a nice drawing. It feels realistic. The anatomy and proportions look really good to me. The softness of the core shadows look good too. It's just too bad that the values are off 😖.
I have a suggestion:
Why not have like a value bootcamp? A short break from the anatomy studies to take your understanding of values one step further. I feel like your drawings deserve it. I don't think it will have to take that long.
If you feel like that's a good idea, try drawing this foot using only 3 values; you'll probably end up with 1 value for the background, 1 for the foot in light and 1 for the foot in shadow. You don't have to draw all the details, just the major shapes. It might help to squint slightly at the reference. You'll notice how the darks merge together into a group.
Also check out this video How to Organize Values. You can get it for free in the
Proko Course Sampler
After you've watched it try doing some value studies yourself. Working with five values right away might be hard (it was for me). Practice with 2 first, then 3, then 4 or 5. When doing 2 value studies the process is still the same; you start by finding the extremes.
Hope this helps :)
