Thanks @Dave Greco ! I’ve followed your work and youtube channel for a while. It was really awesome to see and hear more of your process and thoughts. Especially great that finding your/our own process is completely fine and can work to become a high level professional. I’m not quite there for sure, but I feel this course has helped me take some good steps on the road to that. And I’ll definitely go back in to make the designs feel a bit more cohesive! :) And thanks to the whole Proko team involved with this @Proko Support @proko creator and especially @Sean Ramsey being very active and helpful here! Awesome work everyone!!!
LESSON NOTES

What's in Premium?

I review the final student submissions for the character design course and show you exactly what takes a concept from a good sketch to a studio-ready portfolio piece. I break down common rendering mistakes. You will see why using too much rim light or soft airbrushes can make your art look overly digital. We look at how to make your character designs cohesive so the materials and armor make sense together. I also explain why art directors value your loose thumbnail sketches just as much as the final render. You will learn how to fix competing background values, improve readability, and ground your characters with solid construction.

Professional character design relies on readability and cohesion. When materials clash or lighting flattens a creature, the concept falls apart. This breakdown shows how to unify your shapes and push your rendering so your portfolio stands out.

I did think of everything Dave mentioned and biggest problem turned out to be the fact i was too afraid of going overboard that i actually underdeveloped the ideas. I definitely need to allow myself to go a bit further with my designs. Thank you so much for all the feedback both to Dave and the mods. This was amazing.
