A bit difficult to get the likeness of some of the faces but Rembert did say to try to draw hands with the heads so I picked a pose of the joker holding a card and a pose of Harry Potter holding a wand but sadly I didn't get the likeness of Harry Potter but it was still run to draw. The first two drawings were of Willem Dafoe (Green Goblin) and Jack Black but the drawing of his doesn't even look remotely like him. I find it quite difficult to draw hair, especially in pen. I started with a base skull which really helps with getting the proportions quickly, especially when I can't erase anything
Drawing heads from a skull helped me alot with the understanding of how things are placed. Now I just have to remember that people have foreheads and practice eyes and ears.
I got a little carried away with this one. I did a few with the skull base and drawing features on top, but had trouble imagining faces. The rest are from references. For those I tried to focus on expressions.
Before moving on to the anatomy in this course, I decided to return to this assignment and try again.
Somewhat traditional - day one of practice thought!)
They look like people - which is good
not like people I was trying to draw - bad
… I guess it will do for now and continue practicing on!)
p.s. Now I realize how much I was always relying on erasers)
And I still think that pencil is a marvelous tool
But it would be nice to be able to capture a likeness from the word go!)
P.s. Shout out to Skelly app!)
Thought features from Zolly [like changing perspective] would be much appreciated!) and moving jaw and ability to solo skull 👀😁
The hardest part of drawing faces for me is drawing noses, lips and women faces. I like to draw women and I want to make them beautiful and it puts this stress or pressure when I draw them lol. I messed up on one of the faces for women and quickly redid it.
this was fun and will continue practicing. @Rembert Montald quick question for you. Everytime I lick my finger to smudge the ink, it doesn’t spread out easily when you do it, so I wonder if the paper has to do something because when I do it, the ink doesnt spread easily. I use the Universal canson sketchbook 65lbs.
