I have an illness so I can’t stand up or work out 🙁 I have ME/CFS so I lay down big amount of the day. (Excercise makes it worse) I sit in my armchair When im watching tv or/and make art. Ive made a special armchair table so i can draw or sculpt comfortable from there. A good day i can walk maybe 10 minuites. But this illness also made me find art again and give me time to really develope my skill and learn it all. But another good thing for a healthy mind is meditation and mindfulness. I do that

That was an awesome bonus video!! Thank you @Stan Prokopenko and @Marshall Vandruff for providing all these informations and advices in one place, I appreciate the work and thought you put into this! I took lots of notes and added all those Draftsmen videos and books you mentionned at the top of my backlog x)
Drew casually as a teenager and made the exact mistake mentioned in this episode about copying style instead of learning fundamentals. Of course, I wasn't actually intent on learning drawing "properly" at the time, only for fun – but, funnily enough, it was hard to do it for fun because my skills and knowledge were so limited. That's why I'm picking it back up now, and still consider myself a novice. I'm excited to immerse myself in the craft again, and to see where the journey takes me! I've got to always remind myself that it's *supposed* to be difficult - anything worth doing is worth doing badly. A hard lesson to learn, but I am trying to learn it!
Honestly some great life advice in here. Marshall saying "pain is inevitable" and Stan talking about comparing yourself to other artists and getting discouraged happens in every field/hobby. I practice Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai. You get very discouraged when a higher level belt crushes you. Its the people that STAY and get crushed who become great. Show up and do your best at drawing each day. You'll undoubtedly improve. If you quit you'll never even give yourself a chance.
Can you recommend some fun projects to do? I hope this gets turned into a series.
When drawing circles and ellipses, which is already hard enough, is there any advantages of drawing them both clockwise and counter-clockwise?
im looking forward to participate on this course! i will probably return a lot of times to this specific podcast episode in the future when im in doubt
Hey Marshall, Stan, I watched out for the eyes.training app from your studen, Marshall. Man it's AMAZING. I start now using it to practice! Thank you for the pointer. Man your student must geek (in the postive way) and I love it! Regards and big THANKS to him, Marshall. Kevin

Justin Sweet reminds me of Kekai Kotaki - concept artist for Guild Wars 2!
Also: this was totally worth the watch. I usually don't have the patience for podcasts, but this one was very entertaining and informative!
Hi Everyone!!!
I'm really excited to start this course. I've been watching Proko videos and Draftsmen episodes for about a year now and was really excited to hear about the basics course. Also, I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this but the,"The dot and the line" book Marshal mentioned was animated by Chuck Jones. I remember watching it when I was a kid after hearing him describe it. You can check it out on Youtube.
Good luck everyone!
