With the penguin and, especially, the girl, I did not leave myself enough room on the page, but otherwise I think they went okay. I had a much harder time with the hand, with both getting the proportions and getting myself to sketch it as directed rather than drawing it more carefully.

Attempts at the skull and the camel, plus a few small sketches I tried using the same principles. The camel is the drawing I did after watching the demo (but without copying it). I really struggled beforehand and the demo really helped, especially with simplifying the gesture of the legs.

Here's my attempt at the portrait. Kept working on it too long and lost the simplification, I think.

5 x 5 minutes, and 1 x 30 minutes. Any feedback welcome. Thanks.

20 minutes. Tried to focus on structure and lay-in, rather than detail. Any feedback welcome. Thanks. And thanks for the timer tool, Proko!

Tried a couple different approaches, but struggled getting proportions and didn't have time to clean these up at all. Any feedback is welcome.

My final attempt at my pear, after watching the critique. I think I did a better job of simplifying, but I think I may have lost some of the sense of form. Any feedback is appreciated.

Never tried drawing a mermaid tail before. Very rough, but here it is.

I think I posted this originally in the wrong place. Sorry if I'm creating a duplicate. Only had time for one, and a quick one at that. Lost sight of the lay-in focus as my time started running out. Not pretty, but I enjoyed the challenge, and I'm making myself submit in spite of myself.

Three attempts at the pear exercise. (They appear in reverse order--I can't figure out how to get them to upload in the proper order). The first (last in line here) was done before watching the demonstration, the other two after. I am making myself post this now, before watching the critique video and then having another go. I had trouble getting myself to simplify the contour and terminator to just a few lines. I tried to simplify more with each attempt. Any feedback is appreciated, but mostly this is just to make myself commit. Thanks.
