I'm stuck between rendering styles! Sometimes blending alot or sometimes leaving the edges blended lightly.

This was my first go. I tried again traditionally but thought this would be easier to upload!

Reference images are from Dustin Blaise at creatureartteacher incase anyone is wondering. First two drawings are level 1, then some extras, and finally playing around with the shapes of the rooster for the level 2 assignment. Let me know if you have any suggestions/critiques. Thanks!

Some Glen Keanes and one David Malan! My drawing style tends to be more loose so I almost lost my mind with the David Malan study but i think it was very valuable to do. Let me know what you think I could improve on.

The "warm ups" I went off the page on the spider hand, it is one of my bad habits.

Tried doing an entirely different pose from the references. Inspiration comes from my cat being a dork with a string on her tail. Images are of a river otter!

It's so refreshing to hear a professional talk about the struggles that can happen during the drawing process. I think a lot of us students have the idea that making mistakes or struggling with a part of a drawing makes us an amateur that is not ready for professional work when in fact this happens to everyone. Great lesson!

Struggled with the background a bit without using charcoal powder. Had a great time in this class! Critiques or comments are welcomed!

hello everyone! These are some gestures I worked on tonight along with the video. I started implementing the practice tips recommended here by @Jesper Axelsson and doing the gesture on my own without the example, then along with Stan and then attempting to do the gesture like Stan again without the completed example. Trying to make less messy lines, and find that my proportions keep stretching, might need to revisit the drawing from the shoulder video. Any feedback is appreciated!

Keep working on your line quality, I can see the flow taking shape and you have a good grasp of proportions! A good way to practice is to count how many lines Stan uses in his drawings and try to recreate it with only those number of lines... It will be tough at first but worth it in the end. Keep it up!
