Drew it before I watched the demo and I Can see were I messed up. I shouldve started from the top dangit.

Drew this alongside the demo.... Always seen orthographics done but never put them into practice before. Time to change that!

How do we start if we don't have a airplane?... It's hard.😅Starting with Blobs much easier.

It was fun and satisfying to follow along. My main takeaway was that I keep forgetting the 'zzzzzzzz' lines that Marshall pointed out dramatically haha, so will endeavour to remember that.

Marshall here's my first attempt to draw a Toy Plane after viewing the demo.
The photos are only to reflect what toy I was looking at.
I drew it freehand next time I'd use tools.
Although I followed through with measurements using paper marks for comparison.
At the end I could see many errors with respect to the connected views and getting all four views on the A4 paper.
I think, not connecting the plans and getting the underlying line
proportions was my biggest error(s)!
Is there a way to draw out the horizontal and vertical line plan first,
connecting all the views, without getting lost in a maze of lines
or is it best to work it out as you draw?
The photos don't show the views as I observed them.
The camera does not capture what I see or would that be
the method used to take the photograph?
In the end I omitted the front view of the back wheel, as it
highlighted more mistakes between connected views !
I could see a portion of the back wheel ( when viewed from the front), which the camera didn't.
For a moment I was making funny noises, I forgot I was drawing
and was electric welding the wings on!
:)
Thanks again.

Here's my attempt with a satellite radio receiver in a bracket. Looking at it now, I can see where I missed with the back 'knob-screw' thing.

This was a quite challenging, my page wasn't big enough. Also think I put to much detail and chose to hard a subject. Also the doors just came off.🤣

Before I started I wondered whether it was possible with the lid in an angle… I guess I answered my own question.
When someone would have to make this object one would need a right angled design.
Although there are some little faults, it was a nice study though.

Did try to follow along :D
This was a great demo! I had no trouble doing this myself. And Marshall don't worry about not being super acurate all of the time. I bet you had to sit at an awkward angle, because of the camera, I can't imagine keeping my measurements and lines consistent when I can't really see what I'm doing, so this was impressive to pull off!
The proportions of my plane are a little different of course, because I don't have the acurate measurements of the model plane.
The only thing giving me trouble was trying to keep everything straight, because my T-square and paper were slipping a bit.

Oops I just noticed that I made a mistake with the back fin on the front view. It's taller than the other two

Watching this demo on drawing in Orthographic perspective Marshall with the plane, actually really was really educational on how to approach it all. Will give this a try for the assignment on picking a simple object near me n give it a shot.

I'm sure the progeny will look back on this plane with great reverence!
