Doing some self critiques after watching the week 6 critique vid. There were definitely some stronger sketchers than others * In terms of likeness, some of the relations with the facial features were off, particularly the eyes. I found the "constellation" of landmarks a pretty good way to check if things were accurate and correct them * In terms of rendering, there were a few places where I got caught up in details that the primary 3d forms were no long reading so well. Also some of the secondary forms like the cheeks and wrinkles I needed to really study and understand the forms before rendering

Cool! - Notice how the child has a larger forehead in the photo than in your drawing. Same with the bald man. Perhaps it could help to think of the head as a few shapes, and check that they have the relationship that you want them to have, before adding details. I hope this helps :)

Cool paintings! - When having a reference with a clear directional light, you might want to use it to your advantage by starting with a lay-in, that indicates the boarder of light and shadow. This can help you with the values; following the rule of thumb "the darkest light should be lighter than the lightest dark". Keeping light and shadow separated. Hope this helps :)
