In this demo, I'm starting with a reference and inventing poses by changing the story, exaggerating movements, and exploring scenarios to push my creativity.

I believe I did well on these invented poses. I love the second especially. Feedback would be appreciated!!

I gave it a go but this was HARD for sure. The far right is where I started with a reference from the interwebs. The others I tried to invent. I can see how it gets your brain thinking "how do I solve this?" instead of just copying from reference. It was fun though!

Intrusive thoughts on the page.
Notes on Story:
- use single word or phrase to drive the ideas. talk it out. even if it's unhinged. ;-)
- consider the beginning and end of an action for the purpose of inventing. The middle may not be as interesting as how it starts and ends
- consider what is happening: big movements? imply with strong diagonals and placement of supporting limbs. Subtle action? Focus on body language: sad or regretful? bow the head, bring chest in, hide hands. Relaxed? Loose hands and limbs. etc etc.

OMG, “I’ll get you a new cat’ 🤣🤣
I love the idea of telling a story though a pose. It seems so obvious, but not at the same time. Sometimes I really need something explained to me like I’m a toddler, and this is exactly what I needed.

implementing story throughout each pose is a really cool concept. Definitely will help me going forward to get new poses down quickly!

Same story told from the neighbor's point of view, if not as well.

While I haven't gotten to the point where I create entire scenarios in my head I do often think to myself "what is < insert body part> doing here?" whenever I need to pose thing from imagination.
