Could this be considered like something of a half way to mannequinization, but with little less structure?
Michael Hampton
Sure!

I got stuff from Cris Stevens, Ryan Ottley and Steve Huston. First, I need more than 16-17 lines. Otherwise it looks like a bunch of fishbones. And second, all of this is incredibly abstract. I went trough the video twice. Michael Hampton is talking almost all the time, which should be good. But, I have no idea what he is talking about. It’s like listening to art politician. And no invented poses. Inventing anything is pointless at this point.

Very frustrating. Feel like I'm missing a point here. Probably too much details. Too late for video critique, but maybe Rachel can drop some of her own. Would be much appreciated.

Asked for help
Decided to use only one pencil and make it progressively harder. After finishing one row I covered it with paper and taped it in place so I don't use it as a reference for the new row. This makes it level 1.5, I suppose? Good exercise. It was really hard to control the pressure for lighter halftones with a single pencil.

Some "boxes" were more challenging than others. Again, mixed results. But I liked the exercise.

Bonsai bird house. This exercise hurt my brain.

Nice work, I like the variety of line weights that you used! The cross contour lines feel a bit flat in some areas making him feel more square than cylindrical. I noticed that especially in the forearms and his left upper arm. Overall you did great with the overlapping and placement of the cross contours.
