I find that as long as I get the drawing and values correctly, there will be a sense of realism and depth in my works.
Very interesting study of values. Started with alla prima of the face and neck, moved to the ear, hair, then background (for contrast against the lights). Felt that a few lost edges suited the overall feel. Tinkered and experimented with second washes, blending and lifting. Lots of fun!
Really interesting lesson, overworked it a bit but slowly matching the values was a lot of fun!
