The drawing shown in this demo is a refined version of the tentacle demos from earlier in the course. By applying everything we have covered even an abstract form can be made convincing and interesting.

Really learned a ton from you Steven. Thanks for taking the time to share the wisdom you earned over your lifetime.
HI everyone! Here are two illustrations I made thanks to all Steven's techniques: with graphite pencils, stumps and erasers (and a little photoshop levels adjustment).
Really loved this course: very concise and effective. A liberating and very instinctive approach!
I don't know how you could come up with the full figure or world tree if you didn't already have a really solid knowledge and background of both figure drawing and drawing various textures and organic forms. I don't think I could come up with something like this from my head.
Thank you for this course. This is one of the best instructional video I have watched. Very inspiring and approachable.

Great work! I like these a lot. Biggest note that jumps out- all of your rolls out of the core shadow seem to have a similar "quick" fall off. Try to hunt out more variety in these gradated fall offs in your references and in your imagination. I look for at least a short one, a medium one, and a very gradual big one in most drawings.
