Thanks for all these in-depth examples and demos. Material and lighting is super interesting. I was just wondering if this course will still have assignments or if I should be making some for myself throughout it? :) Thanks
LESSON NOTES

What's in Premium?

I will show you how to take a simple 2D sketch and paint realistic materials onto it. We will render four distinct surfaces: a simple matte white, a reflective glossy ceramic, a soft brown ceramic, and a translucent yellow plastic with subsurface scattering. You will learn how to set up a believable lighting scenario using diffused top light, cool side light, and warm bounce light. I will demonstrate how to use clipping masks, adjust curves, and paint ambient occlusion to give your character a 3D form. We will also cover how to place direct specular highlights and secondary reflections to make each material look authentic.

Now that we’ve learned about how material influences an objects appearance, let’s jump in and try painting those materials. In this demo, Jeremy will show you how to mimic various materials like matte, glossy, and ceramic by focusing on how light interacts with these surfaces.
