I feel I did a much better job this time drawing the mechanical forms instead of being too literal with the shapes.
The first one is my initial rough drawing before I drop the opacity and draw over it with more accurate lines. (then I cleaned it up a little more after watching Stan's awesome examples)
Today’s work. The first picture is the result of the process in the second pic. Did have a peek in the e-book, because I find it still difficult to simplify.
