2028/8/31. Hello everyone. It's been a while since I posted my work but only because I'm studying a lot. I just finished one of the two artworks that I will exhibit in the September exhibition that will be held in one of the two schools where I started working as a drawing teacher. As always I would like to have your opinions, advice or criticisms. Thank you and have a nice day. "Iron Lady", 30.5 x 45.5 cm (acrylics on 300 gr Fabriano watercolor paper).

Drawing hands is challenging; even a minor error can undermine a great deal of effort. I have attempted it three times already. Pay attention to the invisible small finger knuckle, the 'raccourcis' of the hand, and especially the thumb.

Initially, I estimated it by sight. Then, I realized it was an abbreviated view and incorporated several vertical lines. Next, I considered the grids of 1/2, 1/3, and 1/4 proportions, as well as a square with diagonals. Subsequently, I observed that the top of the hand was curved, which meant I needed to examine the subject closely since even minor alterations can significantly affect the realism of the hand's depiction.

This is a strange course, so far. Topics and informations are thrown there, wildly, which is totally different from Stan's lessons that are very structured. But I like it too. Just seeing Patrick drawing live can make me learn stuff like a sponge. So I tried drawing a female figure from imagination, starting with very strong gesture lines, and trying to keep them alive. And well, I failed. In the end, adding anatomy on top made me lose the nice flows I had at the beginning, no matter what. I especially feel bad for the left shoulder which doesn't look right at all. I'll try again after watching more videos, and we'll see if my drawings can get more stylish and gestural.
