i love how you take the reference and change the contour lines into more interesting shapes/curves/lines. is that something you might talk more about in this course?
LESSON NOTES

What's in Premium?

We are increasing the challenge with three 2-minute poses and two 3-minute poses. I’ll show you how to use that extra time to capture body type, weight distribution, and facial expressions without losing momentum. The goal here is to build confidence and trust your hands rather than worrying about making everything look perfect.

For the 2-minute sketches, we focus on the silhouette and start adding light and shadow. Then, we move to 3-minute poses to add specificity to the face, hair, and musculature. You will learn how to make your drawings bigger and more expressive while keeping your speed up. This exercise pushes you to stop searching carefully for lines and just draw.

Stop worrying about making pretty drawings and start trusting your hands. These two and three-minute poses force you to build momentum while capturing the body type. You will learn to add complexity like light and shadow without getting stiff or boxy. It helps you trade careful searching for confident lines.

Absolutely, simplification is a big part of developing your style! In the demos ahead you'll see how Eliza simplifies lines and shapes with her own shorthand which comes from years of animation and gesture drawing. Hope this helps!
