Here are my 15 sec and 1 min drawings. These were hard! I definitely panicked and struggled to get a complete drawing down lol but what a great exercise to get you out of your head!
LESSON NOTES
What's in Premium?
In this session, I take you through a timed gesture drawing workout designed to shake off the rust. We start with 15-second poses. It feels fast and frustrating, but that is the point. You need to get your muscles to understand the assignment and just get a silhouette on the paper.
Once your brain adapts to the speed, we move on to one-minute poses. You will see how to use that extra time to capture specific body types and stature rather than just a generic vibe. I explain how I visualize lines of action to guide the pose without getting bogged down in details like facial expressions. This exercise builds the foundation you need before tackling longer, more complex drawings.
Fast gesture drawings are often frustrating but they help you shake off the rust.
It feels like a panic to get a silhouette on paper in fifteen seconds. This warm up helps your brain adapt so you can capture the vibe without worrying about details. The goal is simply to get your muscles ready to draw different body types in the longer poses.
