Here are my cartoon hand studies.

Hi @Wendy de Boer, really cool!
I did a paintover with some tips. In short, it's about designing the hands with nice shapes that show form clearly. You could check out @Diego Lucia's drawings for inspiration.
I hope this helps :) Keep up the good work!

Hey Sandra,
I like that your taking hands and cartooning them, It's pretty fun.
Coming from the animation industry, I have had to draw cartoon hands quite a bit. One thing I learned is that even though they are cartoony, they still have to have structure and overlapping shapes and, believe it or not, acting.
One of the things I noticed about your hands is that you didn't always keep the anatomy of the fingers. Sometimes you only drew two segments instead of three. Also, if your showing fingers pushing down on a surface, you have to flatten them out so they look like they are really pushing down. That's what I mean by acting.
We were taught at Disney to always use straights against curves when designing our hand shapes, especially with the fingers. I did a quick sketch to show you some of what I mean, hope it helps :)

Love these! I feel like the palm of the one on the left could be a bit narrower - or rather bulk up the fingers and wrist instead. Overall, great job!

😅 Finished this chapter.
The first are Catweazle Hands. The way Stan draws Marshall’s hands made me think of Catweazle.
The other two are of Marshall (photo 509 and 635). Could be more cartoony I think.
