Accuracy Guide Demonstration
Hello Dorian, you've mentioned a cheat sheet or PDF that accompanies this course. Where do I find that item? Thanks.
Hi there! My name is Buddy. I'm trying to solidify my drawing skills by learning the fundamentals. And what better way to learn it than by using this site with all these handy courses!
Here is my accuracy exercise. I printed the original and attempted a 1:1 copy in my sketchbook using a mechanical pencil. I spent some time on this. I laid out the major shapes last Sunday. Then, during the work week, I would refine the proportions a little each night. I put in the details Friday night and Saturday morning. In the overlap comparison, the red lines represent my drawing and the blue lines the original. It seems that my tendency was to overestimate horizontal distances by about 1.0mm to 3.0mm. I also overexaggerated the pointiness of the corners in places. I will continue to intentionally practice the accuracy techniques outlined in this lesson moving forward.
So my guys got a big head, but he deserves it. He's a great guy. XD That was quite the challenge!
I'm getting how to find the proportions of a side by side drawing. I found the Glasses very helpful, I'm still not clear on translating the size of things that are farther away onto the paper and how to make those things bigger or smaller than they actually are. Is that more about perspective? Sorry, I am an absolute newbie to drawing. I've learned most of what I know from youtube and have no formal art training. Thanks!
Apart from this demonstration image, do you have suggestions for what kinds of drawings we can use to test out these methods? I am a beginner and I worry that I'll get overwhelmed if I try something too complex.
Hello, great demo! Could you help me though, I don't see the link where I can download the PDF......
