And there she was, pampered and proud, in the basement, the only place she had no right to access.

I created this piece with haste when I found out I had enough time to make something decent. I have always wanted to take part in a Proko challenge but never felt that I could create the things in my head the way I wished I could portray them. after deciding to full send my art career ambitions and taking the Proko figure drawing classes seriously, I'm glad that this piece was difficult not because of my technical ability but because of my next hurdle, imagination, ideation, and iteration.

My submission for the Skull Challenge. You could say I had to juggle some things to get it done.

Hello!
My name is Nemash and here is my submission for the October Proko challenege.
I took some inspiration from the legend of Takiyasha and the Skeleton Spectre. I made a simple pen and ink drawing showing elements from the story. I have attached some rough drafts and reference material.
Thank you and Happy Halloween!

Super excited to participate in this years October challenge, I hope this captures the halloween spirit!
Here's another one, which I had more time! I'll probably continue working on this one =)

My final piece along with some screenshots I took during the process (and my campaign for Skelly to get grills at the end).
Had a lot of fun playing with gradient maps and masks towards the end. Also had some fun sorting all of the references onto one sheet, haha.
I think this is definitely my strongest submission to one of these challenges and now I'm going to try not to imagine this floating above my bed as I sleep...

Drawn/painted on Procreate, 297x210mm, 300dpi, sRGB. Using Apple Pencil on iPad Air 4. I'll post more process stuff on Instagram @magnusmerlin soon. It was very interesting to discover how I could use gradient maps, blending modes and masks for a metallic effect and some sub-surface scattering.

Get the fuel pump
Can you gimme a hand, kin?
We're about to light bonfires and pumpkins.
Skelly-o'-lanterns we'll call them.
This is a collection of my work process from conception to final rendering.

I think the un-shaded version scanned in and coloured digitally would look awesome. Always love a pen drawing too though.
