Are the health issues keeping you from drawing or do you lack motivition in general? If you have a strained arm you should not force yourself to draw but let it heal. For general lack of motivation: I think we all have days where we would like to draw but nothing really speaks to us and we are not productive. I try to accept these days and doodle a bit or just watch something art related without pressuring myself to be productive. That is the best way for me to get new ideas and motivation. Luckily these days are rare but then I am relatively new to art so I don't know how it is if you have to draw for comissions, for a job or if you have 30 years of daily drawing under your belt.

I feel you, because I'm suffering with allergy since I was a kid. I have had allergic rhinitis and skin allergies. I feel better once I stop going to doctors. Because all they gave me was anti-histamine tablets. From experience I know that no tablet can cure your allergy. Only exercise and positive thinking. I believe that allergy is cause by stress or family problems like death of a loves ones. Once the stress or depression are gone the allergy will naturally go away no tablet is needed. When I'm drawing I'm used to bring toilet paper because I know I will sneeze. When I'm in Starbucks drinking coffee and draw many people think that I have a virus but I know it's just an allergy hehe. You don't need to follow this advice this is just my experience.

Every day I have a random body part that's gonna go on a strike. Nose/Arm/Legs/Eyes... It's tough sometimes indeed. I find you do some slow studies to get in the mode of drawing. Because it's not as brain-intensive and you are still occupied enough to not think too much about other random things. But yeah sometimes I just sleep until the sun goes down

Hi Dennis! I don’t have advise for the strained arm or allergies. But I think knowing your goals and what you like could help you maximize the time when you are able to draw. Maybe have a list of things you want to learn/study you can slowly go through when you feel better? Do what you can and I hope you get well soon!

Hi @Dennis Yeary , Sorry to hear that! I am not in the right position to give you any tips on dealing with an allergy or a strained arm. My advice would be to get advice from a medical doctor. Is drawing with your other arm an option? Hopefully you will get well soon :) -Leon
