Thanx so much for the feedbacks. You pointed out things I didn't even realised I was doing and how much it was taking me off course! The whole hour was very useful. Cheers!

Thought I'd post all the steps of this project.
I'm sorry about the quality of photos of my earlier drafts, I'm still struggling to figure out how to photograph drawings, especially bigger ones and in light pencil... any advice on that will be very welcome.
And, of course, any feedback on the drawing itself :)

Fun assignement. I used a fountain pen to ink them. I explored and pushed some lines quite far. In the near future, I would like to become efficient with digital tools though. But traditional works very well for me.

Another go at simplifying a portrait to 5 values, straight lines, and hard edges. I love the posterized look these studies have. And it's a brilliant exercise.

Latest Praying mantis. My lines are getting better the more familiar i get with the subject.

I gave it a try both on paper and digitally. It seems quite flat to me ... probably my lines are all quite similar

Both are interesting to me. Paper version stands out more. Is it the use of more contrasts? White reserves.... Thanks for sharing

Sadly my sketching abilities cant match the concept design. I share this and go back to sketch from observation. Cheers!

I backtracked a bit. I felt I needed to work on those a bit more. Here are some new sketches from observation.

Hi! Thanks for sharing your work. The foreshortening of the boots on the vrgirl looks very good to me. it gives great depth

The penguin was so much fun to draw!

I appreciate how both subjects are grounded. I really can feel the ground under the penguin's feet.

Sketching from Observation. To be honest, I was intimated by the hand. Turned out not too dramatic. The proportions are a bit off, but for a first run, i'm ok with it.

Hey André, that hand is gorgeous. The arm is a little envious, but who wouldn't be next to such a beauty? Always nice to see your post.

i include those in here since they don't follow the assignments of (Learning to sketch from observation) but are still part of the 2 week challenge drawing / panting. I did some negatives using watercolor.
Hi guys,
I didn´t have courage to do it alone so I did it with video.
Drawing eyes is hell. xD

Boots again. I used pen this time, compare to graphite at my first attempt. Less fluid gesture but more control results.

Snails. This time i managed to simplify without going to far from the subject. Yeah!

I'm a huge sucker for architecture so decided to do my best to use CSI to replicate this beautiful picture from the internet. It's my first time doing shading and CSI so it was an exciting experience!
