I tend to go slow and try to get things “perfect”, so I tried to do these quickly without worrying as much about mistakes. Spent around 15 minutes on each one.

I really struggled with this one. I had a few tries on my own and wasn’t happy with them. After watching the demo videos, I tried again and was a little happier with the results, but I see all of these other submissions and they’re SO good that I get discouraged. I’ve always wanted to draw better, but it has always eluded me.

Looking at other students' work can also be encouraging to see what's possible with consistency :) I agree with @Oscar, there are improvements between each drawing you've done here. The same with your last post. You're in a position to learn a lot, which is a wonderful place to be. Many students are afraid to attempt the boots and you did a great job with them. Keep it up 👍

I think you're being too hard on yourself. There's some really nice shapes and lines here and there's clear improvement from one drawing to the next. I particularly like your boots.

As someone who has always struggled with drawing, I was actually expecting the shape to be the hardest part for me, but even though there is still a ton of room for improvement, I’m pretty happy with the overall shape. The edges and values, on the other hand, ended up being WAY more difficult than I expected. I used 2H for the shape outline and 6B, 4B, 2B, and HB for the shade values.

Ok. Last one. 😊 I did this one after watching the critique video. I tried to really emphasize the plane changes on this one without actually drawing in hard lines between them like I did in my first attempt. I also tried to make sure that each of my 5 values were clear and obvious.
