My first attempt is this incredible Wolverine drawing from Ryan Benjamin. Any critiques would be very much appreciated. The thickness of his contour lines are so varied, ranging from absurdly bold to literally no line at all. I especially love the claws how he leaves some long lines entirely to your imagination.

Did the 2 tracings. I got bored in between though, so also tried to sketch it from the real life photo.

I’m just now realizing while I look at these that I probably should have used a darker pencil for the heavier lines

I find drawing a diagonal line from upper left to lower right is pretty hard. Perhaps because I'm right handed.

Was thinking the same thing. always tempted to rotate the paper, but probably not a good habit

Some more practice. Some proportions off, and some stiff lines when I tried to darken up the “right” lines, especially in the hairy parts. But overall, I think I was much looser with these sketches. And they were super fun to do!

Started with the hand (couldn't help adding some Spiderman webs). If anyone has feedback on line quality, I'd appreciate it. I'm not totally clear still on what is meant by "confident lines." I set a rule for myself on this one not to erase anything, as I know I use the eraser way to much. It was a good exercise. You can see in here that the curve of the thumb was initially off, and the middle fingers were too long at first, but I'm glad I just sketched over it rather than erasing. There were some lines that I committed to too quickly though, some proportions look off to me. Overall though, pretty happy with it.

First attempt at the penguin and VR girl. The penguin turned out okay, but I don't like the VR girl. The proportions are off and the lines aren't very clean. I'll try again after watching the demo.

She looks pretty good to me! Saving her for last, definitely looks like the trickiest of the 3

Any feedback welcome. This was my second attempt at each. I especially struggled with the boots, but I feel like they turned out decent in the end.

Didn't realize how light I was drawing, kind of hard to see in the picture. This was fun though, will probably keep working on this for a while before moving on.

First 2 drawings were on my own. The third one was following along with the demo. Crazy seeing how many shapes I was missing in the shadows before watching him do it. Any and all feedback welcome, thanks!
