I tried and tried and these are the last pages. It was fun to compare with the first ones and see the improvement. The hippo still does not want to be my friend. though.

After the master study of Dave Malan I wanted to see how far I would come on my own with nice lines, drawing from a photo. In my head it was much better than it actually turned out. But I’m happy with the exercise.

Hello all! Here is what I did this week. The dancers are by Degas, the profile portrait by Dave Malan, the red woman by Adriaen van de Velde, the fee and horse by Claire Wending, and the two nudes by Giorgos Sikeliotis. I was satisfied more or less with each one, but one sees what a long way I have to go, when they are brought in direct comparison to the original. I think I will do more studies in the next days and post them here,

I went with a horse. First did some studies from photos, then tried without reference to find some sort of character. But wasn't quite satisfied with that so got inspired by T.S. Sullivant's horses, and wanted to try exaggerating some of the features and give it also a bit of an attitude. I'm quite happy how it turned out. :3

1. Hierarchy - I went a little modest with the contrast in line weight. 2. Light Direction - Then I tried to push it a little. 3. Light Direction Imagination - A little more. 4. Observation - I like that graphic look of the plant, but it may not be the ideal decision every time.

I really like the plant drawing. The whole composition and your lines. Is it a drawing from observation? the perspective is very good too.

Look at this little guy <3 I can't be more happy with this course, I don't necessarily draw better (maybe I got a little better so far), but it's the way I approach drawing now, everything is so much more interesting.

Here's my submission. I made 2 attempts at the full-page sketch from imagination. I'm not sure If this is what the assignment required, were we supposed to stylise and exaggerate our subject?

Here is my attempt at sketching from imagination with various references. Nerd alert. I created a Star Wars inspired Gungan Jedi. I was always fascinated with the Darth JarJar fan theory lol, so I thought I’d give it a go. This character is meant to be a light side Jedi. I wanted to give the character a sense of grace in combat, much Luke from the Mandalorian, while also trying to stay true to the ‘Drunken Boxing’ martial arts style, which gives the illusion of clumsiness and utilization of distraction techniques. The lightsaber is inspired from the various gungan weapons seen in Star Wars episode 1. Designs of the Jedi robe were taken from Boss Nass attire. It was a fun project and I learned a lot!

I do not know if I am very late or too late, but I just finished Level 1. The hand was the easiest one for me, the pinguin was the hardest. I drew this $%&& bird 5 times because he kept looking stupid. My lines got better with each time and that's what matters.

Day 14 Last day of challenge and first day of trying to quit smoking lol — it made me extremely frustrated and impatient, object after object I started and erased, unable to focus After a little meltdown I gave up and just started freehanding boxes in perspective. And then cutting off shapes inside them, in freehand perspective as well. I finally...calmed down There's something relaxing in how precise perspective is — once you know the theory, you've got all the answers, you only need to nail down the execution. Which isn' ideal on my part but whatever i'm not in my best shape rn as you might've guessed :D

For day 13 I drew from life, again. A model of Lamborghini Gallardo that’s been collecting dust on top of a bookshelf and a pencil case with some interesting patterns. Well and yesterday’s attempt at using copics on the drawing I started few days ago.
