Ahh! Of course, accuracy, my archenemy. Bring it on!

This part hit me in the face...
"Now, most people, they draw and they don't even think they're just drawing and they don't stop and think about anything. And they wonder why the drawing doesn't look all that great because you really have to draw, think, stop, interpret, think, Think about what that is that you're drawing.
Look at what you're seeing. Do I like that thing that I'm seeing or do I want to change it now? This is where it gets really advanced, its part what you see part what you know and part what you wish you saw. Most of you are going to be drawing entirely what you see because you don't know that much yet."
Gold.

So here, the line babbling baby trying to babble like the sage old masters of drawing. It messed up with my head. But it was inspiring and helpful, maybe I'll do one serious study like Stan did, this are all too casual. I like both grunchy and smooth lines, I did a little bit of both.

If anybody is still looking for references there is a series on Youtube called The Sketchbook Series by Trojan Horse Was A Unicorn, lots of great artist showing their sketchbooks and opinions, and at the end of the interview they do a quick sketch so you can actually see their masterful use of line in action 👌

While googling samples, I found this Delacroix copy of a Rembrandt! Any benefits to studying a master's study of a master? ;)

Meta master studies, years in the future someone will study your master master studies, and it will be a master master master study 😎 I'm going to steal Delacroix from you. Thank you very much 🙇♂️

Yes! I'm so happy with the plants haha I'm satisfied with the result, thank you for the comments and feedback, I was definitely pushing the line thickness on purpose to see how far I could go 👀 just kidding, now I understand that I can go too far hehe, noted ✅

🦏🦏🦏🦏🦏 I understood the concepts but went all over the place on execution because I understood the concepts, what variable of edge is defined by what variable of line? 🤯 I guess you can only get better with practice 🦏🦏🦏🦏🦏

1. Hierarchy - I went a little modest with the contrast in line weight.
2. Light Direction - Then I tried to push it a little.
3. Light Direction Imagination - A little more.
4. Observation - I like that graphic look of the plant, but it may not be the ideal decision every time.

Look at this little guy <3 I can't be more happy with this course, I don't necessarily draw better (maybe I got a little better so far), but it's the way I approach drawing now, everything is so much more interesting.

Man, that little part after you pulled your hair, the realisation "oh shit what am I doing?" so funny 😂
Sketching is very scary to me and i dont know why. It shouldnt be that difficult but I get anxious whenever i do it.

My strategy, if it helps, is to just do it a lot, A LOT. I found out if I just draw now and then I always get too precious about the results even with casual sketches, but if I'm constantly sketching it's start to feel like it's just another drawing of the bunch, and you start to lose the scary part/anxiety. The key is to fight that feeling and just do it, and also try to enjoy it, let yourself free. It's ok to be bad. Even better, see how bad you can sketch, do a lot of bad drawings, see which is the worst >:) Liberating.

Main points after watching the demo and doing the assignment again...
- After a while drawing in sketch/exploration mode, once the structure is showing more and all is taking place, I tend to go into detail/perfectionist mode, I need to be aware of that and stay on exploration.
- I think the hand is all over the place, a little bit noodly, I need to balance with some structure/measure mode, I now kind of understand the "straights for structure" lines Stan mentions sometimes.
- The color pencil for sketch mode is amazing, great help to stay on the mood.
- I love my penguin now (I hated the first try).
- Little quick test, sketch with the red and clean with the black, so good, much fun. The ref image is from pinterest.
The Tip to use a color pencil for sketching was a revelation for me, thank you 🙏

I can grasp the looseness now, I think I can exaggerate even more in the exploration.

I think I didn't explore the design that much, but I did try to stay loose. I'll try the exercise again with other creature.

The penguin was very difficult for me I don't know why hehe. Still learning how to get a little more loose. I did the sketch of the robot with a 4H, the loose sketch may not be that noticeable but it was there :V
I bought the red pencil you suggested that Disney animators use. I really enjoy using them.
