I found vertical line was quite hard for me. I can make a straight vertical line in one shot, but if need to be repetitive stroke on same position, I will miss in 2nd stroke with slightly bended line. I know I can just turm the paper around and apply the horizontal line method, which was very easy for me. But I want to try something different in drawing, and after 2 days practice, I start to be familiar with it. Practice was really the key.
LESSON NOTES
What's in Premium?
Drawing a perfectly straight line freehand is nearly impossible, and you don't need to. In the full lesson, I'll show you my strategy for drawing reasonably straight lines using a simple pantomiming motion. I'll demonstrate how to apply this to build foundational shapes like squares, rectangles, and triangles. You'll see my process of overshooting the corners to construct the shape first, which takes the pressure off getting it perfect right away. We'll also cover more complex quadrilaterals and polygons.
