I recently got this course, so I'm aware I'm late for the video critique, BUT I'm really excited since this is my first Proko course... Here's my first homework. Being honest, it did took me a little longer than expected at first, but I'm sure the more I do it, the faster and better they could be. It's in tradicional, but I messed with the scanner a little 😅

First assignment submission! Hope I made the deadline :)

Did some fancy ones on PC but I always take so long on PC because of back button syndrome, did them again on paper and some 1-2 minutes gestures for speed

Had some trouble with consistency (such as with pushing angles too much/not enough) and with creating the feeling of subtle twists (esp. on sword girl). Any suggestions on how to improve any of these would be greatly appreciated. 😁

I worked (too?) hard at simplifying the figures through many versions to get the essence of each pose - this is the best I can do for now - love the course, Michael F

I took my time drawing these. Now looking at them with rested eyes, they look a bit stiff.

Hello everyone, These are the pieces I created for this week's assignment. I had a lot of fun working on them. However, I struggled in a few areas, particularly with foreshortening and visualizing how a pose looks from different angles. This was especially challenging for the pose of the man second from the left in the first photo (out of four). In the second photo, I attempted to create an overlap with the same pose. I welcome any critiques or comments on how I can improve. Thank you!

First assignment! I noticed my work devolved back into gestures near the end. Still have a little trouble visualising the directional wraps.

Had fun with these. Slow to start then started to feel comfortable with the process. Good exercise!

First assignment. I haven't taken the previous course on gesture from Michael Hampton so I had to improvise on a couple angles for some of the body parts on these figurines! Definitely felt like I was slowly getting used to this construction as time went on, it's a neat way to simplify the body! Also tried focusing on line quality for some of these, since that's an area I feel like I'm greatly lacking on when it comes to my sketches. Looking to see where I can improve overall!

My first assignment, figures feel kind of stiff/lifeless... I think in some cases I don't exaggerate and figure turns out... boring, I guess? There is much room for improvement.

The first assignment!! I had a lot of fun doing these, though form intersections continue to be my nemesis. I had a lot of trouble with connecting the neck to the head and torso (I always felt like something was off) so any help with that would be appreciated. Ever a messy sketcher, I'm always trying to work on making my lines more neat. It's always so frustrating when your hand doesn't make the mark your head has envisioned. Alas! Practice practice practice. I'm looking forward to the critique video!

I practised some basic gesture drawing from Stan's Figure Drawing Fundamentals before, but it's still challenging. Especially the back poses and finding the scapulae. And I think the bottom parts of the butts look too flat, I suppose I should use more "3D box" approach, as in the Michael's demo. And I'm not a master of arranging the objects on the page. While drawing, I often notice proportion issues (usually the head seems too small to me), and the drawing ends up extending to the spine of the sketchbook. Small margins and squeezing too many drawings onto one page doesn't pay off, ha, ha.
