Draw 10 figures total (two sets of 5)

For each set, pick a film (or any genre of realism you like) and draw its cast of characters.

How to work:

  1. Start with your mannequin.
  2. Design the costume shape on top of it.
  3. Add basic fold patterns.

Don't get caught up in technical fold construction or perspective. Focus on how the costume adds to the character. Ask yourself what design elements make that character more believable.

Bonus: Once you've finished your 10, branch out into other genres. Graphic novels, a comic you like, a period in history. Anything where you're trying to understand the language of a specific world. Do the film sets first, then go crazy.
