Bonus Assignment
If you want to practice with masking, you can create a simple cloning shot. Make sure your camera is completely still then film multiple performances in different positions, avoiding any overlap. Then in your video editing software you can layer the two videos on top of each other and create a mask on the video on top.
Another option to practice masking is to do some simple matte painting. As before, make sure your camera is still, and film a video. Then you can paint a new background and use masks to add it to merge it with your video.
