A problem I have is that whenever I try to make a body or body part I always can't make the connecting part look natural whether its about perspective, layout or more!!!
Not sure if I've missed something. But I purchased this course really hoping to be taught how to draw specifics in comics. How to draw eyes. How to draw noses. How to draw mouths. How to draw hands. Etc... Feels so far like I'm seeing a preview of how they do things but not in depth on how to accomplish these things. I fear this course was for artists that already know how to draw comics and are look for additional tips. Any advice?
This was so great. The experiential process points, like about constantly switching back and forth between grips and techniques, really illuminate how it all comes together. Thank you!
I'm also currently doing Ryan's courses on new masters and they're GREAT. He's such a good teacher.
I didn't know he worked in the industry that long, amazing. Looking forward to learning from an experienced and seasoned master. I've watched him on youtube a few times and I've always enjoyed his lessons very practical. I'll put aside my non-photo blue pencil for the red!
Anyone else having trouble with sound not playing?
Very interesting your method.
I have one question. The red pencil you're using as planification stage is a current prismacolor or it's a special red color?
I´m asking this because you show a scanned page on photoshop an it appears the program detecs this color at the moment so the erasing is a matter of seconds.
Or could I use any red pencil and photoshop will detect it in the same way?
Regards
I'd also like to say that you can't erase simple color pencils, atleast from my experience, it has to be specific colored pencil, probably prismacolors. Anyone with more knowledge about it, please explain it better ^^

It's not a specific red, in fact you can use any color you like! However, it's easy to quickly remove a Red, Blue, or Green channel in photoshop. There are many ways to achieve this color removal effect, so you can always desaturate or remove whatever color you decide to use in your planning stages. Ryan is using a Primsacolor Col-Erase which is nice because it can be more easily erased than other colored pencils out there so it's a good place to start. Experiment with what works best for you!
Loved this!! Will definitely be working on some primitives. and trying to understand them from a 3-D perspective! Might go ahead and find some face references and try breaking them into primitive shapes :) Thanks for the lesson, Ryan!
Love how you throw that line Ryan!
