LESSON NOTES

We’ve learned about the femur, the tibia, and the fibula (and briefly covered the patella). Let’s step back and give our attention to how these bones come together to form the largest joint in the body: the knee.

Special guest instructor Marshall Vandruff comes in to teach this premium-only lesson.

If you’re in the premium course, you get access to extended lessons, extra demos, ebooks that summarize each lesson, and 3D models to draw from.

The course didn’t mention the shape of the fat pad because it tends to vary from person to person. However, the fat pad has a major influence on the contour of the knee, especially when the leg is fully extended! How should we account for its influence when studying from real photo reference? And how should we apply it when drawing from imagination or creating original work?

For some reason I can't load the 3D models on this section of the anatomy lessons. It keeps telling me the page has a problem and needs to be reloaded...over and over again. Any one else have this problem or know a fix?
