Hello Proko land! So I took some notes and decided to take the microns and brush pens off the naughty step and try following along with the demo... they're going back on the naughty step!!! In fairness the soft Fudensokue brush was less terrible than I remember them. Micorns still have not pace to them when putting down quick lines and I have absolutely no clue why anyone would ever use a hard tip fudenoskue! WHAT DO YOU DO???? My biggest problem is crosshatching and trying to use it to fade values. I tried this last month on the interior of a T-REX mouth and still struggled mightily with it trying to follow along with the demo. If anyone else has tried their hand with crosshatching for values feel free to drop some advice! I'll send you an Arby's sandwich! (Sorry you have to really impress me to get a Subway footlong... 13 dollars? Seriously?! Anywhosie, hope to have the assignment up in earnest sometime this week. Thanks again for any advice or comments.

great start. Make sure you are following the contours of the object that you are describing. Also on the cube your values are all the same. Try having a different value on each plane

Now I know how @Michael Giff felt posting on a pristine page. I attempted the exercise that Len gave to us, but I'm not confident in all my choices. I was having a hard time deciding where and in which direction some cast shadows might have formed. I think it has to do with the direction I chose the light source. I've also played around with some other drawings and characters to practice what Len has shown us so far. I get really intimidated with having to make so many choices. I definitely like the result better than if I had not altered line weight or line types, but I worry that the next line or shadow is going to ruin what I've done so far, especially now that I'm working in ink. The mushroom forest and manga boy, I printed a faded copy of the image and drew directly on it. The desert scene was inspired by a coloring book page on Pinterest (I included original images). Any suggestions on how to improve are welcome.

Oooh.... ahhhh... so that's what the assignments are suppose to look like. Love the mushroom forest, great contrast of lines and that bit of hatching on the one to the left really makes it look likes it's moving/stretching.

first off, amazing effort. Learning a new technique is tough and very intimidating and I respect the work that you put in. As far as hatching the shape goes, keep it simple. First start with only hatching one side of the shape. Get an understanding of it and then add another plane. After you master that, add cast shadows. it's ok to learn in baby steps
